We are now starting to thaw and all livestock look well. With snow on the ground they have been unable to find grass, we have therefore been feeding grass hay made on the farm last summer. To supplement their diets we have also been feeding a dried grass complementary feed twice a day.
Whilst cold the cows have enjoyed the benefit of their field shelter with fresh straw on the ground.
Our chickens benefit from large housing and whilst doors have been opened many have opted to stay in doors rather than venture out into their snowy runs.
Our steer has now been booked into the abbatoir for 13th March, details have yet to be finalised with our butcher but meat boxes

We were just wondering how the animals were with all that cold and snow.

I think we are all pleased that the snow is finally going.
